Charity Race 2014

Postby Col323 » Tue Jan 14, 2014 9:01 pm

I saw the Base Camp was invited to this. Basically, it's a bunch of teams joining together on the "Charity Team" to run SIMAP for a couple weeks. I've joined in with my "Hobbes" account from years ago. Here's a link to the official thread:

The charity race is officially over. It was a resounding success! Starting from position 1440, the Charity Team ended in 33rd place. Daily output was 4-6 times that of the next highest team, Seti Usa. (Who, ironically, had very little representation on the Charity Team.) I definitely plan on participating again next year!

My plan is to hang out there a little longer - I'm usually one of the last to go home from a party - then move my account here. I'll keep crunching, because there's a limited amount of work, and I always like seeing progress towards an end goal. Of course, now that the race is over, progress will probably occur more slowly.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like it was worthwhile.
