GPUGrid consistent in points awarded?

GPUGRID.net is a volunteer distributed computing project for biomedical research from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona (Spain). GPUGRID is made of many graphics cards (GPUs) joined together to deliver high-performance all-atom biomolecular simulations. The molecular simulations performed by our volunteers are some of the most common types performed by scientists in the field, but they are also some of the most computationally demanding and usually require a supercomputer.

GPUGrid consistent in points awarded?

Postby Sid2 » Wed May 22, 2013 7:54 am

Seems that everything I go back to GPUGrid the run times increase and the points awarded go down.

Why is it so inconsistent?

I hadn't noticed. My credits seem to be pretty consistent, at least over the past few days. Maybe it depends on the WU?

I usually ran longs in about 6-8 hours on a 660 and paid on the order of [if I remember correctly about 80K].

Switched to shorts which also ran about 6-7 hours on a 660, all except the latest one paid 31.05K with one out-lier at 20.7K

What happened?

It seems that WCG, Rosetta, QMC and SIMAP are among the few BOINC projects that are consistent in the points they award.

UTC 21 May 2013 | 18:59:54 UTC Completed and validated 57,872.48 6,351.57 135,000.00 Long runs (8-12 hours on fastest card) v6.18 (cuda42)
UTC 21 May 2013 | 2:55:17 UTC Completed and validated 58,081.49 6,514.31 135,000.00 Long runs (8-12 hours on fastest card) v6.18 (cuda42)
UTC 19 May 2013 | 1:20:55 UTC Completed and validated 57,835.45 6,391.94 135,000.00 Long runs (8-12 hours on fastest card) v6.18 (cuda42)

(edited so wouldn't wrap)

These are for the I2HDQ_20R13-SDOERR_2HDQd WU's

Thanks, I will probably run longs again in the fall.

. . . right now, don't need any more heat load for the AC.
