Last call for SIMAP

"SIMAP is a database of protein similarities and protein domains. It contains about all currently published protein sequences and is continuously updated. Protein similarities are computed using the FASTA algorithm which provides optimal speed and sensitivity. Protein domains are calculated using the InterPro methods and databases. SIMAP is to our knowledge the only project that combines comprehensive coverage with respect to all known proteins and incremental update capabilities."

Not so much, I have been unable to keep up with the regular upgrades to newer hardware the last couple of years, so mostly older stuff. :(

Another heads up on workunits. I noticed several clients having problems getting workunits with the "server has no tasks" messages this morning. it seems the tasks generator is having trouble keeping up with the demand.

Visited a few different team forums to see what was going on. Several teams are not only grabbing enough work to get thru the upcoming outage but filling their queues to the maximum allowed in an effort to gain rankings when everybody else runs out of work at the end of the project.

Plan accordingly.

Hey radio! Congrats on passing Pecos again. Persistence pays off.

I see we are scheduled to pass 4 teams in the next 24 hours. That will probably be the last time ever to be able to say that for this project. After that, we will be knocking on the door of the Top 70.

The last workunits for SIMAP are currently distributed. We assume about 5 days of work distribution left. Beyond these, there will be no more work in this project.

Thanks to all of you for crunching protein similarities.

Best wishes
Thomas

Thanks for posting that. I've had very little time to check our stats or the forum the past couple of weeks. It looks like the run here will soon be over. Thanks to all who pushed us up so high. I guess I'll soon need to decide what my next emphasis will be.

Zeppelin, I thought I might catch you napping, but it looks like you woke up in time to keep 2nd place. Well done.

About 24 hours worth of new work to distribute, then it's just mop up duty.
